WAS SHE THERE follows a woman in a red dress on her journey from London to Blackpool. The next day, the filmmaker returns and asks everyone along the way what they remembered about the woman in red. With this simple premise, WAS SHE THERE challenges our ideas about drama and documentary. Who was that woman and why are we looking for her? And is everyone on screen involved in this game of making a film, or is this for real?
WAS SHE THERE won Best Short Film at the Chicago Film Festival in 1996 and the International Best Short Film at the 1996 Cork Film Festival.
